giu, a Miami, FL native explains that music quite literally gave her a voice and helped her express who she is. As someone who dealt with selective mutism, the inability to speak in social situations, being able to convey a whole spectrum of emotions without words is what made music fascinating to her. 

 

In high school, she began posting covers on her youtube channel, which has over 170 subscribers and 17k lifetime views. Her Soundcloud covers are also successful, as she currently has over 26.3k plays on the platform. However, it wasn't until her sophomore year of high school that she began learning how to produce her own music. She immediately fell in love with production because it gave her the ability to create a whole world composed exclusively of sounds, colors, and emotions; which was a similar experience to how she felt discovering the piano as a child. Wanting to help others experience the wonders of synesthesia, every chord she plays, every instrument she selects, and each melody she constructs is carefully and specifically chosen to help relate the kaleidoscope of colors in her mind to her listeners.

Currently a student studying media production and music business in Nashville, TN, giu's style is constantly evolving and developing as she discovers her own sound. Her music shows an appreciation for nature, outer space, and all things feminine — which is reflected in her sound design and artistic vision. Giu released a self-written/produced EP centered around navigating a long-distance queer, wlw relationship titled, "the moon and me" reflects this. Giu's recent release, "Run Away" is about feeling out of place as a queer person. It has over 5k streams on Spotify and Apple Music.
